US SOUTHCOM

In partnership with the Kimberly Green Latin America and Caribbean Center, we have established a local, unpaid internship program with United States Southern Command, located in Doral, Florida. US SOUTHCOM is the administrative and leadership arm of the combined combatant command of US military operations responsible for South America, Central America and the Caribbean.

This program is now available to a limited number of students. Individuals from many disciplines will be welcomed at US SOUTHCOM – including Political Science, History, Sociology, International Relations, Business, Computer Science, Public Administration, Public Health, Public Relations, Law and Criminal Justice.

Applicants to the internship program will be required to submit two letters of recommendation from faculty members and attend an interview at the Gordon Institute (Modesto Maidique Campus, Labor Center 220). In order to be referred to US SOUTHCOM, an applicant must be a US citizen (dual citizenship not permitted).

Interested students or for more information, contact Assistant Director Hector Cadavid or call 305 348 2977.
