Cybersecurity Leadership and Strategy

Executive Certificate Program

In this 2-day advanced certificate program, participants will engage academics, industry leaders, and security professionals in assessing the most critical cyber threats facing the public and private sectors in the 21st century. Participants will learn best practices about organizational structures, processes, and legal considerations. Participants will also be exposed to strategies and the most effective approaches to implementing strategies in the workplace. Upon completion of the program, participants will earn an Executive Certificate in Cybersecurity Leadership and Strategy from Florida International University.

Program Tracks

National and Public Security Track

The National and Public Security Track examines current and emerging cybersecurity threats facing nations and their citizens, and explores best practices in governmental approaches to combating threats. Participants will learn how to organize in the government and partner outside of the government to mitigate current and emerging cyber threats and develop and implement offensive and defensive strategies to combat threats from non-state actors. At the conclusion of the course, participants will test their newly acquired knowledge in a hands-on simulation facilitated by leading practitioners from the defense sector.

Key Learning Objectives

Enterprise Track

The Enterprise Track examines current and emerging cybersecurity threats facing the private sector and explores best practices in private sector approaches to combating threats. Participants will learn how to organize in the private sector to mitigate current and emerging cyber threats and develop and implement strategies to combat threats from both state and non-state actors. At the conclusion of the course, participants will test their newly acquired knowledge in a hands-on simulation facilitated by leading practitioners from the private sector.
