Undergraduate Certificate in North American Studies
Canada and Mexico are two of the most important allies of the United States. We share long borders and enjoy strong economic ties. It is important to understand the commonalities and close relationship the U.S. has with these two neighbors. Accordingly, the Jack D. Gordon Institute for Public Policy offers undergraduate students a certificate program in North American Studies, in recognition of the importance of relations with Canada and Mexico, and in conjunction with the importance of international studies in today's world.
The North American Studies Certificate is available for any degree-seeking student at Florida International University and is awarded in connection with a bachelor's degree. Students enrolled in the certificate program are encouraged to participate in a study abroad program and acquire language proficiency in French and/or Spanish.
